"Out sick" vs. "on leave"?
In California, what is the difference between being out sick for two weeks and being on medical leave? Our policy has been that if an employee is "out sick" (i.e. with no paperwork), s/he is still employed and is accruing paid time off but if s/he is on leave, no time is being accrued. My question is when does being "out sick" turn into being "on leave"?
