TranserWise cash sharing app
An employee has requested that we direct deposit their paycheck to a cash sharing app called TransferWise. Technically it's possible, they provided us with the ACH routing number and their account member. This employee is a non resident alien and does not want to open a US back account for limited amount of time. TransferWise is not FDIC insured and could go under leaving the employee penniless. My concern is the employee would come back to us as the employer to reissue payments even though the loss is not our responsibility. I also don't know if we'd be able to recall a deposit in the event of an error. Would you accommodate the employee?
