Consent to Electronic W-2
Hello,
We offer Electronic W-2's for our employees. They have the option to consent to receive their W-2 electronically, as IRS says we must give them the option. Our system does not default to consent to receive, so no action means no consent. Does anyone know if it is legal to default to a consent status, so that an employee would need to remove their consent to receive a paper W-2?

Employee must consent to receive an electronic W2. If they do not physically consent, they must have a hard copy W2 mailed to the address of record.
