CA Exempt Final Pay Calculation
Good morning - When hiring or terming a CA Exempt employee mid pay cycle, their first/final pay is calculated based on the number of days worked in the period, not paid for the entire period. Is this correct? I'm asking because a CA Exempt employee, who is paid semi-monthly left the company two days short of the end of the pay period. I calculated the final wages based on the number of days worked for that period (9 days x 8 hours). He claims he should be paid for the entire semi-monthly amount. I cannot locate a CA code that gives the directive to pay the entire pay period for a partial period when a CA exempt ee terms. Can someone point me to CA Code?
