Does your company use them? Do your employees have a positive or negative stance on them?
They are better then checks. They are much worse then direct deposit. First figure out exactly what your reason is for wanting to use them. ALWAYS use direct deposit whenever you can. If you cannot for some reason, then pay cards are a decent "least worst" alternative. Assuming that your state allows you to use them. Some do not.
I worked for an employer who had an arrangement with a credit union where we could always get an employee a checking account. It made direct deposit a slam dunk.
